Review: The name “Malgudi Days” reminds us of the book written by RK Narayan and also the Televison series telecasted as TV Series. The name and the title song makes everyone nostalgic taking back to those days. This movie may not be on par with the Television series but it has its own interesting elements. This movie, though has no connection with the TV series except the name.
Vijay Raghavendra has given his best performance both as young and an old man. The prosthetic makeup given to Vijay Ragavendra is little inconsistent and looks bad at times, still he pulled it off well with his meserising performance, expressions and mannerisms. He acted controlled and elegant. Greeshma as Prakruti has done a commendable job.
The film was shot in Karnataka’s Western Ghats and the locations are scenic and breath taking. Screenplay is good. Storyline is a bit lagging and feels lengthy at times. It is a combination of old and new generation love stories. The emotions are well captured. Music is soothing. There are 8 songs in the film which are melodious and fit into the situation amazingly.
If you are interested in school life love stories and if you happen to have one, this movie is for you.
