Review: This film is the Directorial debut of Naranipuzha Shanavas. This is the first ever Malayalam movie released in Over-The-Top (OTT) platform which is Amazon Prime.
The story talks about the love story between Sujata and Sufi (Dev Mohan). Sujatha (Aditi Rao Hydari) is a mute girl with a great talent in Dance. They both meet in a bus and later fall in love with each other. They both decide to elope. But since Sujata belongs to a different community, her parents who are against her marriage with Sufi, gets her married off to a NRI Rajeev (Jaya Surya) and Sujata shifts to Dubai after her marriage. Even after 10 years her love remains the same. What happens later is the remaining story.
Aditi Rao has pulled off the role of a mute girl so gracefully. Dev Mohan performed exceptionally well in the role of a Muslim Scholar. Jaya Surya, an experienced actor stood as a pillar and a strong support.
Cinematography is commendable. Every frame looks so beautiful. The producer in one interview said that after watching Aditi Rao’s Kathak Performance, they have decided to cast her as Sujatha. Aditi Rao Hyderi has said in one interview that Malayalam is very difficult language and playing the mute girl in the film gave her an advantage. She has learnt the sign language for this movie. She will definitely be remembered for a long time by her fans for carrying strong expressions without uttering a single word. The songs are so soulful. This movie is an old story told in a different way. definitely worth watching.
